Hello I'm Morgan from NZ I use Windy to find what the conditions will be and how to improve my racing the most. At the time of writing we are in some of the worst weather in years with wind over 65 knots in wellington.

@greg21b Can you provide more info about your iOS version and version of Windy? I checked the latest app version on iOS 18.3.2 and it is okay.

Hi windy team, I can't seem to find the sources for the VRF maps. Same for NOTAMs. Where do you take this info from? Do you display FIR NOTAMs as well? What about SUP AIP? Many thanks this is great work indeed!

@David-Polášek we may need a little bit of help. We have two use cases in mind: when a pilot requests a landing, we want to show them the wind and visibility for that location in the email confirmation they receive. The second use case is to show a wind and visibility overlay on our landing site map. Best regards Paddy

Because of the app's amazing accuracy, it wasn't long before I was able to adapt Windy into my everyday life for all outdoor activities, near and far. Windy has been in my pocket everywhere I go!

Icing severity is a great added value for small plane IFR flights. What would make it even better, is to add this "threath" in the premium planning mode, especially in the IFR zone. Now I usually use more the VFR one even if flying IFR, where you can better see the clouds. PS: Thanks for this great app!

@stpdgld If you compare Precipitation type layer to observations, there is some chance that ECMWF forecast does not match these observations. A prediction is not a report. @trajo Yes, my phone app is perfect, but I like to look at a big screen, plus the phone app is not quite as friendly. everything is too small, and you have to move the entire screen around to catch where the wind or temperatures are.

@acka **The Best Weather App… ** I don’t usually gush over apps. Rarely do I find one that doesn’t have some problem, missing feature, or something that doesn’t make it do what it’s supposed to do. Windy is the exception. When I first purchased a subscription, I thought, “what are you doing?!?!” “There are hundreds of FREE weather apps!” Well, I’m on my second year now, and I have the Windy app front and center on my new iPhone 16 Pro Max. The new Radar+ is a work of art. I love the blue overlay, (or whatever it’s called). This is everything I can imagine ever wanting or needing in a weather app! I can usually call the weather better than our local TV meteorologists! Keep up the stellar work. I look forward to what’s next… Tracey Wyatt

@David-Polášek Hi David, The weather chart shown in the Vendée Globe website is apparently provided by Marine Weather Intelligence MWI https://marine-weather.com/ This brand new company has been launched by 2 persons, one of them, Christian Dumard, is very well known in France as a routing specialist and a marine meteorologist. In addition he used to provide training on the use of Windy for sailing. Here is an article from Ouest-France newspaper, explaining how MWI plans to base their technology (translated from French): “ The MWI Yachting app will be based on the Windy weather forecasting tool, to which routing sheets will be added. "We want it to be as intuitive, fluid and educational as possible," says Basile Rochut, co-founder of the company in Auray. Depending on its analyses and needs, Marine Weather Intelligence will be able to communicate more easily with its customers via a chat. The app will be accessible on the web and will be a paid service. Prices will depend on the services used.” Did MWI get an agreement with Windy via the API ? That would explain why wind and waves color scale and particles animation on the Vendée Globe cartography is very similar to Windy design. Finally the Vendée Globe organisation does not want to share its data (the position of boats for tracking) with Windy, but Windy shares its weather data with it !
