Here is some information about the weather model used the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) of Australia. This model is similar to the UKMO model.
It seems that you are right and that the observed temperatures in Australia are higher than the forecast temperatures seen on Windy, at this time of the year.
When you say that there is one global model used: No, the ECMWF model is the default model used by Windy, but you may choose the GFS which seems to show better modelling of the temperature in your country (Btw what do you mean by gws model?)
So it’s may be better for you to switch to GFS for temperature forecasts.
But be sure that the ECMWF has not been infiltrated by «climate change deniers » :-)
You can check it by their communication : https://mobile.twitter.com/ECMWF
TheRadarGuy No. During the american "shutdown" among the few things that are not interrupted there are just the weather services and affiliates becouse weather forecasts are considered an issue for national security.
Infact the problem about GFS updates is just a windy problem, because the other sites and apps are regulary updating GFS emissions.
You should fix it.
Also NEMS and NAM are not updating regularly.
I don’t think that is a bug.
If you look to the detail of colour settings, you can see that 100mm is between light green and light pink when 1000mm is strong pink. (See Settings -> Modify layers colors -> Accumulated rain). You may modify the colour range ourself if you need more details but you must know that the upper part of the range doesn’t appear in the colour scale generally.
