The widget only displaying Celsius on my Pixel had been driving me crazy. Changing the app to Celsius, updating the widget, changing the app back to Fahrenheit, updating the widget again took care of it.

No, the ECMWF model is updated 4 times a day, every 6 hours.
Windy updates this model 4 times a day only for Premium users and 2 times a day for free users.

in the Windy aplication code there are no google sites, but Windy use google infrastructure. Try to disable addblock.
