Very frustrating....and basically useless instructions.
I have done as instructed, I have an ID and looks like I have a station number that starts with pws-........... I have a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station with a WIFILogger which I have set up data export to enable data to windy.com. However there appears to be no place to tie my WIFILogger to the Windy account so I have no idea how windy is going to find the weather station.
Water and land colours are exactly the same and there no possibility to change the base map colours.
For most of layers (Wind, Temperature, ...) this is the best way to show the same layer colours above land and above water.
If you change the land colour for example you get this kind of image, and you alter colours on land.
On the website Windy.com, you can save the complete URL when your favourite layer and model are displayed. Save this URL as bookmark. Next time you will open the same page.
On the App it’s not possible to change the default layer and model.
Windy does not create any forecast data but instead only visualises forecast and actual data received from various third party providers.
So the question of accuracy is not for Windy but for the data providers. You can check information about the data source here:
Right, significant waves height is more important for boating than Swell itself.
If you compare NOAA wave charts with Windy using the NOAA model, Wavewatch3, the maps are quite similar for significant waves heights, which is reassuring:
