@Carlene-Lee said in Why there is low rain levels in the UAE?: The UAE gets very little rain mainly because it lies in a subtropical desert region. High-pressure systems dominate the area, causing dry air that suppresses cloud formation. It is also far from major rain-bearing weather systems, and its hot climate leads to high evaporation, reducing rainfall further. Gemini said You’ve hit the nail on the head regarding the geographical "stack" that makes the UAE so arid. To put it in technical terms, the UAE is essentially a victim of the Hadley Cell—the global atmospheric circulation pattern that dumps dry, high-pressure air directly over the subtropics. Since you are interested in technical systems and environmental modifications (like your vehicle's heater and cooling system projects), you might find the "engineered" side of UAE rainfall fascinating. Because the natural systems you described are so dominant, the UAE has become a world leader in Cloud Seeding.

@ulerio Hello and thank you for your feedback. I already forwarded this to colleagues and they will check the whole situation. However, I can't promise major priority right now. Thank you for your patience.

Hi @suty and @simonurbanek I can confirm that I have also still this issue, looks like it is behaving for me the same way as @ctd_ mentioned, it is enough to go to the settings and it is working again, unfortunately only for some time :/

@mbmpc Hello, this is difficult to explain, since satellite and radar layers provide data from various sources, despite the fact, they should behave similar.

@Bogan-Silver, I'll second what @aih has said For me, I am most concerned about low temperatures and storms. The one that works best for me is UKV (The UK Met Office High Resolution model for the UK) as it has a higher resolution that ECMWF, GFS.... Have a look at the different models available for your location, usually for places that can have different weather over the span of a few miles such as coastal environments, the higher resolution models can perform better. The lower the number next to the model, the higher the resolution it is. So 4km is higher then 9km [image: 1771177376960-85bf6347-d2fd-45b5-a25a-6652e2773638-image.png]

@Wheats Unfortunately, there is no specific document for this. But it would be beneficial for both sides to handle it.

No. Under Windy’s standard API terms, you cannot store, cache, or redistribute weather data (even to users in the same area). Only very short-lived, technical in-memory caching (seconds/minutes for request handling) is typically acceptable. For caching or redistribution, you need a separate licensed agreement with Windy or a different weather data provider that allows it.

@zaytsev Try it. But don't quit Windy with the Radar or Satellite layers. Quit it when the model you prefer is displayed on the screen.

Starting from today (25 Jan./06:55Z) I think they realized the problem so, in METAR coding, they omitted temperature/dew point measurments. [image: 1769329422865-d93c765f-d562-43f9-8681-a588e6743eb5-%CE%B5%CE%B9%CE%BA%CF%8C%CE%BD%CE%B1.png]

@Jesse-Zwart Is there a reason why some parts are coloured and some are not? The purpose of this layer is to show areas that present convective risks. So why add colors to areas without this risk? But you can do it -> Settings -> Customize color scales. Can the radar reflection, which shows reflections of water particles (if I am correct), and the satellite cloud temperature be used to determine whether there is a chance of bad weather? It is theoretically possible to mix 2 colored layers, but the result is very poor. You would be disappointed. Is it currently not possible to have the satellite widget with a radar overlay? No, this is not possible.

@jmawer Agreed, adding the UKMO model would be a great improvement. It performs well in the Southern Hemisphere, so having it available for NZ forecasts would be very valuable....

@NilsMM In Windy, waves heights are Hs i.e. significant waves height (SWH). Same for the swell. [image: 1768640450537-17628121-53e9-47f8-b327-3674ce381a21.jpeg] In addition you can check this thread

@idefix37 @suty thanks for your reply, I did understand what @idefix37 was saying but disagreed a bit that It was simple to do. What I meant was that; from the routes I've already uploaded from my laptop through [image: 1768589789646-dcfb8411-675a-4108-ab5c-2cdc6475b0d5-image.png] is not possible to load and mark them as favorites, there's no option for that! However I have tested loading a gpx file from my windy app on my ipad and then add it to favorites as I upload it, doing this way it does show in favorites! So it means that I have to upload again all the routes already loaded using my laptop's browser. In in one of my comments I have put a similar screen print like this (I've put this fav btn!) [image: 1768592291003-0c9078e1-0727-4ba1-99c6-c9e48e361302-image.png] giving the idea of placing an favorite button so after uploadin an KML or GPX file the user can also mark it as favorite. Would like to thank you guys so much for answering my question.

@jrwang said One of main features I like about the meteoblue.com interface is the availability of short-term verification, I don't think Meteoblue's graphs are any different from Windy's comparison of “Observation vs forecast”. Meteoblue doesn't compare forecasts for day 1, day 2 or day 3, but rather the current day forecast and the previous day.
