@Michael-Rodriguez-6 Windy doesn't own the cameras but you can click the link that says"provider's website" and see if you can contact the owner of the camera and retrieve the footage you are looking for. Good luck.

Hey there! If you feel technical, you can expose Linux and Windows servers to the internet using Cloudflare Tunnels for free. If you use them, your server keeps a persistent connection to a Cloudflare POP and Cloudflare forwards requests coming to their IPs through this connection. Thanks to this, you do not need to have a publically routable IP to allow incoming connections to HTTP services.

@etiennehotte I have a love/hate relationship with rain. Having cameras hasn't really changed my opinion of rain but there is definitely some anxiety over lightning and ESD.

Still frames are uploaded to the server here then people can view them through windy. They are further compressed more than likely. If you want a less compressed and also more recent image click on the link for the providers website and go to the direct source of the image. Windy is a weather platform, not an image sharing or live streaming platform.

@SkyDJedi Whart sorts of caameras are you trying to submit? Can you provide an example?

@JacksonRicardo Still frames are uploaded about once an hour. It's entirely possible that there are images up to an hour old. Sometimes a little more. It's not "live" streaming.

@Andrew-Cordes I run PTZ cameras so I think it's reasonable to excuse the brief periods where a DOT camera might be zoomed into an accident scene or something like that. My weather cameras are not just for weather, they are also to monitor fires and some days, they're zoomed into that. But when the vast majority of cameras are just planted on a road or are very low quality fixed lens cameras, that shouldn't be posted on Windy. Now then, you say it all comes from some bulk list. Well, clearly a bulk list isn't the right way to do it. I wouldn't mind a DOT camera if it looked anything like yours you just showed. [image: 1737038068035-4ae36614-0805-46d9-a9d2-b6d7a43dd818-image.png] They don't show the sky, but why would they need to for their intended purpose, which is to show traffic conditions. The answer is to be selective about what is on Windy so the platform isn't cluttered up with garbage that nobody wants to see that is of no value to users. And yes, that means going through them all one by one.

@wjg875 I reported this but so far my only response was the same one you just got. I don't know who flooded the platform with those DOT cameras several years ago but they are not only currently all jumbled up in the wrong locations, they also don't comply with the submission guidelines for webcams on Windy. Windy is for weather conditions, not for traffic conditions.

We’re slowly getting many of these Asia and Oceania webcams approved with authorization/postfix links after the image URL link ? mark but the queue of the same domain can’t be after each other so I’d just throw away a few submit in between that would 100% be rejected before submitting that same domain again. When the night image is completely black or authorization/postfix unapproved by specific rules, it won’t be processed or cannot load results in rejected, or some reason the image/video URL is online but cannot be processed results in rejected which has now been fixed about 1 or 2 months ago.
