greetings out of bavaria.
Great weather page! I use it all the time and we also could say that even thunderbolt-flashes are reported very precise. Very awesome!
Two things for you:
Perhaps you don't know it but its a weather warning in germany about wildfires that may occur because of the sunny weather. Its reported here as WBI (Waldbrand-Index) and goes till Thursday. And: a wish: could you list also UV-Indices? I can't find them and it would be great to have them too... greetings :D
@ivo Also quite frequent:

It seems that the http:// prefix is mandatory, keep that in mind ! Or simply, test the result in the "Preview" first when creating the post !

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately the place names are not controlled by Windy.
Please see the following posts about how the map data for Windy is sourced and displayed from www.openstreetmap.org:
Please also note: For every language, a different place name label can be displayed, so please choose your correct language and data display.
Further discussion of place name and language issues or disputes should be directed to the OpenStreetMap Forum here: https://forum.openstreetmap.org/index.php > scroll down & select > users: (the relevant country for your dispute and/or question)
In the case of a political dispute please leave such topics out of the Windy forum and instead focus on the discussion of weather.
Thank you :)
QUITE an amazing number of detailed responses, so thanks.
I found that clicking on the clock in the UI while using the "Rain Accumulation" button, it states as you said, 'a forecast of what the rain accumulatION will be for the next 12, 24, etc. hours/days', (and NOT the rain "accumulatED").
However, when just clicking on the clock while using the more common "Rain, Thunder" button, it says that it will show at least some history: "Rain/snow accumulation in the last 3 hours." Of course, it is only updated every 12 hours at around 4:30 PM, in the middle of our most likely rain period, so it isn't extremely helpful. But, it was showing me some of what I wanted yesterday at that time, right after most of the rain was over.
It seems that if ECWMF has that past history, it is possible that they could make it available for the past 12 hours, instead of just 3 hours, and then present the last 12 or 24 hours of rainfall. That would accomplish most of what I'd be looking for -- a rough estimate of past rainfall.
I have been using a PWS that is about a mile from me from WU, which does an OK estimate. And I agree that I really should put out a gauge, but correct placement away from walls is difficult but vital.
I'm thinking it would be cool to put an unobtrusive gauge on one the side of my mailbox, which is about as is isolated away from obstructions as you can get. Then just check/dump it when getting the mail.
No, GFS 22km has a lower resolution than ECMWF 9km which has a higher resolution.
The resolution is the number of grid points on a given surface (or pixels on a digital photo). If you decrease the distance between the points, you increase their number and so the resolution.
@Marienka I just set up this app on the recommendation of a friend. I can change the temperature scale on my desktop (Win10) from C to F - no problem. But, on my iPhone (using iOS 12.1.4), I can find no way to do it.
I've closed the browser after confirming the settings on the desktop (which supposedly saves the settings to the cloud). I've closed the app on the iPhone. When I reopen it, there is no change - temps are in C and everything else is still metric, etc. I've read the two threads on here and gone to the link --
Is this "feature/bug" still not fixed? Or, have I just not stumbled on the solution yet?
Love the app, but this is frustrating!!
Well seems that I do not know this problematic. I wanted to make a info page for our new monster feature, we are finishing right now. And it seems that you understand the matter more than I do. Thx for all the comments.
Do you have any plans on sharing weather data/parameters (e.g. wind and temp data) in XML or JSON formats through Windy API? It'll be a nice companion to Leaflet map currently in use.
Thanks and Please keep it up!
