<p dir="auto">Cyclone Chalane is reaching Mozambique, where it should make landfall in the early hours of <strong>December 30</strong>. Landfall is predicted to take place near <strong>Dondo</strong> and <strong>Beira</strong>.</p>
<p dir="auto">The system is moving west with sustainable winds of 111 km/h (60 kt). Chalane brings a threat of heavy rains, flooding and strong winds in provinces of <strong>Sofala</strong>, <strong>Manica</strong>, <strong>Zambezia</strong> and <strong>Inhambane</strong>.</p>
<p dir="auto">In the evening of December 30, Chalane should enter <strong>Zimbabwe</strong>, bringing rains, which could result into flash flooding, mudslides and landslides.</p>

<h4>Update: Saturday 28th of December, 10:00 p.m.</h4>
<p dir="auto">Cyclone <strong>Chalane</strong>, located at <strong>20.0S 41.6E</strong>, has regained a tropical storm intensity as it continues to head towards Mozambique.</p>
<p dir="auto">Landfall should occur on Wednesday in central Mozambique, in the province of Sofala. Heavy rainfall could be expected in provinces of <strong>Sofala</strong>, <strong>Manica</strong>, <strong>Zambezia</strong> and <strong>Inhambane</strong>.</p>
<p dir="auto">Maximum winds are 74 km/h (40 kt) and the intensification of the storm is likely to continue.</p>

<h4>Update: Saturday 27th of December, 11:00 p.m.</h4>
<p dir="auto">Tropical cyclone <strong>Chalane</strong> has made a landfall over Madagascar today Dec 27, causing massive flooding and deaths of several people.</p>
<p dir="auto">Cyclone is currently near <strong>19.2S 45.6E</strong> with maximum sustainable winds of 55 km/h (30 kt) and higher gusts.</p>
<p dir="auto">Chalane will continue to move westward, towards the <strong>coast of Mozambique</strong> and should re-intensify to peak winds of 75 km/h. Landfall is predicted to be near <strong>Beira</strong>.</p>

<p dir="auto">Da giorni il Nord Africa è soggetto alla formazione di potenti temporali pomeridiani che scaricano tutta la loro potenza circa 20 minuti dopo la loro formazione.</p>
<h3>Come mai accade tutto ciò?</h3>
<p dir="auto">Per il semplice fatto che il suolo si surriscalda molto, l'aria calda tende a salire verso l'alto, ma salendo verso l'alto incontra temperature più basse, di conseguenza si condensa formando dei cumuli a sviluppo verticale.</p>
<p dir="auto">La parte bianca, che vedete nell'immagine satellitare fornita dal nostro sito Windy, indica proprio i cumulonembi.</p>
<p dir="auto">In basso potete notare lo sviluppo dei cumulonembi nell'area che va dalla città di Djelfa a Tebessa per poi estendersi, nel corso del pomeriggio, in quasi tutto il Nord Africa:</p>

<p dir="auto">I cumulonembi in cima sono formati da dei cristalli di ghiaccio, ma nel Nord Africa, essendoci un suolo prevalentemente caldo, tendono a sciogliersi, arrivando a terra sotto forma di acqua.</p>
<p dir="auto">Nei prossimi giorni in questi territori si attendono diverse formazioni in tutta l'area che va da Mecheria a Sfax per via della forte umidità e del forte caldo.</p>
