@colinpbriggs
You made a color scale which suits your needs. This is the best solution.
But a green blind person like this user will probably need another scheme.
So Windy cannot provide a perfect scheme for all color blind people.
@zulu-139
There is no bug here !
The white or magenta animated particles have nothing to do with the wind color scale. The white or magenta colors are just chosen to get a good contrast with the map.
The colors of the map give the wind speed accordingly to the colors of this scale, not the animated particles which only give the direction of wind.
So there is nothing to fix.
@Green-Bean
Right there is no way to customize the color scale on the App. You have to do it on the websitewww.windy.com, on desktop/laptop.
On iPad it is possible if you use your browser with www.windy.com
See screenshot of my iPad with color scale settings page
I KNOW THAT !
Who said the jet stream is on the surface? I said that if you change the wind color scale to a gray tint below 40 kt, you will clearly see the jet stream, but looking at the surface wind, you will not see the lighter winds below 40 kt!
@siim I'm guessing you don't have an icm color profile installed and active in your system, changing the settings alone without installing an icm color profile doesn't cause the problem.
@Korina I understand your limitations. Thank you anyway for taking the time to respond. Maybe natural development of software will end up fixing it.
