After being delayed several times the RRFS is finally on NOMADS in the parallel feed as of August 12, 2026 with the 12 UTC run. At the same time, the RRFS prototype AWS bucket I shared earlier is no longer being updated. How to see only a subset of models

@mrothman It is not possible to see only a selected group of models in the “wind rose” chart. Here in Western Europe we have 7 models available and it is almost impossible to see all the arrows which are overlapping. It would also simplify the “Compare” big table. The best would be to be able to select the models in the table itself, because the choice could be different depending on the expected deadline or resolution.

Soundings, missing data

HI there,

I like the soundings in Windy (aka Aerology). But I see that you use only a reduced dataset to draw the soundings. The temperature curve is always straight lines between data points from "standard" pressure levels like 950, 925, 900. 850, 800, 700, 600 hpa... So this can be rather inaccurate, especially in times and locations where you get some low level inversions.

Isn't it possible to get a more high-res version of the soundings?

By the way: Looking at the soundings from ICON-D2, the data points seem to be thinned out even more, just showing 1000, 950, 850 hpa levels in the lower part. Why? In this form the ICON D2 sounding is useless, because you will miss most of the low inversions that will form at this time of the year (autumn).

@idefix37 @Alexisbrth64 Indeed, not all parameters are available with Arome 1.3km versus Arome 2.5km. We could debate if Windy could perhaps use the 2.5km in place of the 1.3km in order to get more parameters and mainly the altitude,...? Difference in pressure?

Hello, Why is there a difference in pressure reported for Isiasis? Tropical Tidbits shows 985 off the coast of SC, but windy.com shows 1004, including 1 hour forecast. Is this a big difference in pressure? Run: 06z Monday, Aug 03.
