Windy does not create any forecast data but instead only visualises forecast and actual data received from various third party providers.
Windy therefore has NO control over the forecast or actual data provided.
Hi, you can set up an alert for maximum rain for certain hours, but you cannot really set a minimum amount of rain, since it is 'at xy amount of rain..'.
There could be some changes in the future regarding alerts.
Customization is pretty hard to get right... Too much options tend to render apps and services complicated and unusable, which doesn't mean (as I believe) the Windy devs aren't open to add more options if it makes sense.
Good idea to start this thread, to let the Windy devs find out, what kind of customizations are in greatest demand. I am sure they would implement anything that 10 % of users would find useful.
So folks, what are your suggestions when it comes to custom options?
Thunder is produced by the explosive expansion of heated air surrounding a lightning channel.
Thunder can be heard from a maximum distance of about 10 miles (16 km) under good atmospheric conditions.
When lightning strikes close, thunder has a loud clap or snapping sound.
The rumbling we hear is the sound of thunder reaching us at different times from the sound produced along its length.
I love your site and find it really useful. The only frustration is getting an alert, opening it up and then seeing that the conditions are perfect except for the fact it is raining. Please please please bump the "No rain" or "Max rain" feature up to the top of your to-do list. Every paraglider pilot I know wants this feature because none of us can fly in the rain!
Hi @seb-schmied, thank you for your feedback and sorry about the delay with our response. We are happy that you like Windy! :-) As to your suggestion, I personally see this as a good idea. Best regards ~ Marie
