Several months ago, we launched an extraordinary satellite map. Now we are testing a new version of the satellite map, which brings new stunning enhancements:

      • Stunning and realistic colours. Clouds and land look now real as from the ground
      • More level of details. Windy now generates data at zoom 7 for GEOS and Himawari satellite, which makes satellite even better. Just check the cloud tops over America and Asia
      • The new colour scale for infra+ view
      • Data optimization. Your device now downloads only new images during the animation

Please, help us test it out, before it goes to the production - click here.

        Excellent !!!
It would be great if we had the option to customize the color scale (for satellite layer).

          When in new satellite, settings
          the "click to change units"
          is not working.

Hello! I've really been enjoying the Satellite view. I just tried the new one. The images are STUNNING but I prefer the old color scale with more colors. I find that much easier to read. Thanks for continually improving Windy! I'm a full-time cruiser and I use Windy to help keep us safe and comfortable on our ocean passages and in anchorages. :)

This is great to have when you are going on hunt for the northern lights here in Iceland. It will be great to have more than 2 hours back to see how the clouds are moving. Then it will be better to predict what will be in 1 to 2 hours. Thank you for this.

                Nice work!

Another enhancement function that can serve as an active aid in the fight against the Climate Crisis!

always like the new updates. one thing, please let us choose larger fonts on the maps, sometimes their too small for us on smaller screens, they should scale with an option.

I like it, but is a bit too "heavy" to charge.

                    I have desktop PC Windows 7 64-bit
                    Chrome as browser

                    4GB RAM

@TomSlavkovsky looks great :) Personally I prefer the new colour scale. But as @Gkikas-LGPZ, says change units isn't working for me either – plus, degrees Kelvin really shouldn't be the default (Celsius should). Speaking of, it's probably unclear to the general user what infra+ actually is (cloud top temperature, right?). Perhaps this could be labelled somewhere?

Hello! I really like the new look for the satellite map but the animation seems to play less smoothly than the previous version. Thanks!

Very nice job! I was going to say keep the old color scale, but the new one is much easier on the eyes. The new animation seems to be loading less frames than the old one. Overall performance and quality is ok though.

The yellowish tone for low clouds/fog and also snow on the visible satellite still looks awkward to me. If a user is looking to distinguish the different levels of clouds, that's what the infrared is for.

From a retired Navy meteorologist, looks good so far.

This is an excellent upgrade, Tom! Very useful in areas with often out-of-business radar networks like Indonesia.

I love it. Looks beautiful. If you could add the "weather radar" doppler at about 15% visibility as an over/under lay... Just curious. I think both are valuable tools for the armchair weather forecaster like myself. I do a lot of traveling on my motorcycle. Not afraid of rain, but if I can plan...
