Radar - satellite widget blank, clocking

I have installed Windy since the beginning on the phone (internal storage), not the SD cars. The radar widget worked fine until some point perhaps a month ago and now it is blank with a turning blue circle (see screenshot). It never updates. I have uninstalled Windy twice and reinstalled.

This is odd. Please help.
Android 9, Samsung Galaxy 8 with latest security updates. Nova launcher.
