About Windy Maps (hiking offline map for iOS/Android)
the maps for offline use are very large, so you can't really save them in the phone's internal memory.
How can I get the maps on my micro SD card?
@wefa Hello, before downloading offline maps, you can choose whether it'll be downloaded on SD or internal storage.
Jdou stahnout.mapy do zarizeni android 4.1?
Me se vzdy objevi hlaska "neco se pokazoli"
Nejdou mi stáhnout Offline mapy, nezobrazuje se mapa, nefunguje tedy nic.
@AloisAdam Hello, we do not support Android 4 or older, that is why you can't download maps, you need to upgrade to a new phone.
@sen-cil Hi, if you have Android 4, this may be a reason, why you can't download anything, since we don't support version 4 or older anymore.
How do we retrieve saved offline maps?
You have set a map to use it offline?
Turn your device offline. You will see that your saved map is still showing all details when the other are blank.
For example I’ve saved the map of Ireland. When my device is offline the app shows the detailed map of Ireland (left) and the blank map of Northern Ireland - UK (right).

Even when I download the appropriate map, my saved routes aren’t shown on the map when it is used offline. Any ideas why, since I assume routes should be available for use when you have no access to WiFi or a mobile phone signal? Otherwise I am really impressed by the WindyMaps app with its high quality maps for most of the world that have surprisingly good detail, ease of use and interactive capabilities.
I have not checked if routes are saved at same time as the map (For me Ireland was just a trip plan before COVID lockdown :))
Have you tried to save your routes after you save the map?
I have checked on a saved/downloaded map. It seems that routes are saved if you draw them after downloading the map. So routes are available offline.
