Cold wave in Sicily, snow at hilly altitudes
-
An exeptional cold wave is coming to Sicily due to the recall of cold air from Northern Europe caused by the disturbance positioned on Greece which will drastically lower the temperatures by 3-4 degrees compared to today.
For this weekend therefore cold days characterized by rainfall and snowfall at hilly altitudes that will mainly affect the Sicilian hinterland await us. Let's see more details however what will happen on Saturday and Sunday.
Today in the morning mostly cloudy skies over the city of Palermo with the possible development of precipitation. From the afternoon the rainfall will tend to increase accompained by the moderate North-East winds which will lower the maximum temperature which will reach 13-14 degrees.
Starting from the evening, a further deterioration is expected due to the development of thunderstorms even in the province.
On Sunday morning the first snowflakes are expected on the Corleon Hinterland and in a large part of North-East Sicily. Moderate rainfall will continue to persist elsewhere. In the rest of Southern Sicily only low temperatures will be felt with increasing cloudiness.
From the evening winds attenuation on Palermo, except the ionian coast where the gusts of wind will blow at 70 km/h with rough or choppy seas with rough seas with a wave height of three meters.
For next days the temperatures will rest around 13-14 degrees and the winds continue to blow from the North-East.
