Snow fall accumulation data

First thank you for your app and all the data it provides.
The precipitation accumulation data is labeled as "rain". Is it safe to assume that if snow is being shown as the form of precipitation that the accumulation amount is actually forecast inches of accumulated snow rather than rain?
