Adding a widget now crashes app.
-
Since the server glitch noted on the forum. I can now no longer add a windy widget, it crashes the app. I initially uninstalled the app and reinstalled, when the glitch occurred. I have since reset my phone to factory settings. Still the same issue. Sony Z5 compact, android 7.1.1 Any ideas? I sent off the feedback crash log thing. All other widgets on other app, and windy app opens and works fine. Any idea? thanks.

Hello @daniel84uk, could you please check if the App is installed on sd card? It causes a problems when it is. Thanks!

@Korina Im not using SD :)
-
does this issue happen on all the Windy widget types or sizes?
Please also check that you have Background data usage on and I would not recommend to be on power saving mode neither. -
@Korina happens for every widget type yes, the windy logo does not show in the menus either, its replaced with the default android app logo. Background data is on and always has been on The app itself works fine once opened and pulls the local weather forecast. It looks like a missing file / permissions thing maybe. An update must have broken in for the Z5 phones. Do you have i older versions of the software, so i can use a dated version of the app.
-
@Korina confirmed, version 22.0207 onwards broke for the Sony Z5. I am now using 20.0107 succesfully. Here is a screenshot, as you can see even the logo on the newer APKs do not show up. Do you have official links to old apks we can use, rather than downloading the from apkmirror.com

Hi @keepclimb @daniel84uk, please contact me on info@windy.com and I will send you link to the older version of Windy. Thank you.
-
@daniel84uk Exactly same behaviour on my phone. Thanks Daniel.

@keepclimb @daniel84uk Hello, this bug will be fixed in the next app update.
