Confusing Color Maps
-
Some color maps, e.g., the one for wind speed, repeat some very similar colors for lower and higher values. I would like to see the option to select a perceptually uniform color map that goes from dark to bright (like matplotlib's viridis, for example), or just from blue to red without so many different hues in between

Hello @lumpiluk, you can customise the color scale in Settings -

@lumpiluk
You can try my own settings for wind color scale. This scale is customized in such way that there is no similar color for different wind speed and lighter colors corresponds to light winds.

Thank you for the replies! Unfortunately I can't seem to find this setting in the Android app. Either way, wouldn't it make sense to adjust the default?

@lumpiluk
Of course, as explained by the link I provided to you, you must modify the color scale on the website windy.com i.e. on a desktop. Then your modifications will be applied automatically to your phone app.
Windy offers you the possibility to modify the colors exactly as you wish by yourself. If you want a range of colors for the wind based only on shades of grey, you can. But do you think that if windy changed this color scale to a shade of grey it would please all the users of this application?
So do it yourself!
