Hi,
I am facing same or similar issue.
After installation of the widget, my location weather is properly displayed. Later in the day, the widget tried to update the information and failed fetching data. Error message 'Failed to retrieve forecast data'
Error occured on Samsung Galaxy S9

Hello David, please try to reinstall and remove the widget, also in case you have Windy on SD card, move onto the phone memory. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.
I uninstalled/installed the Windy app twice with the same result... Not sure what is going on. It seems it fails to connect to the data server.... Any help would be highly appreciated...Thank you. David -
And to be specific, the app is not installed on a SD card...

does this also happen on a different type or size of the widget?
I would also recommend to have Background data usage turned on and not being on Power saving mode.

Try version 20 of the app from apkmirror, things went wonky from me since december updates.

Turning off the Power Saving mode solved the issue (I supposed this mode restricts the retrieve of data in the background...) .. Thx!
