Can we use pictures, animations or videos from Windy in our TV, webpage, newspaper, project...

Hi, Can you confirm that UN News services (United Nations https://news.un.org/en/) can use a screen grab from windy?
We are slightly confused by the separate copyright requirement for OpenStreetMap...which appears in the link in the bottom right hand of the screen.
Thanks so much for your help

Hi,
I'm working on an open source, non-profit mobile application that aggregates information about the local kite spots. One of the functionalities is a quick access to the spots' weather forecast. I'd like to provide the Windy weather forecast as one of the options. User can tap a button with a Windy logo, a web view will open and the Windy.com website will be displayed. Is it ok?
-
Hi there,
I would like to include a few screenshots from windy.com website as images in my new weather book. Acknowledgements will be given to the images. Do I need to obtain explicit permission from you too? Thank you.
-
@Clarence-Fong
Hello, you don't need an further permission as long as Windy logo will be present together with pictures. Will your book be available for public? :) -
Thats good news, As I just started my local weather reporting page on face book, and European severe weather and pertinent global issues. I love Windy.com, found by a link to Greta Thumbergs trip across the Atlantic.
I have used some captures (snips) but always give credit to windy.com. I was trying to fond legal information on sharing said windy.com news and portions of the United Kingdom map. But seems you have already answered the question. which will it make it one less origination's to contact for permissions.
I would give windy.com 5/5 and recommend it to almost anyone, interested in our dangerously melting climate.many thanks Mike (member) My page is up, but not active yet, due to unusual power cuts in the last few days, that has played havoc with my technical devices ,not least my new GPS weather station. But in case you want to check it out,. https://www.facebook.com/HandyWeathermanuk/

@Amateur-Met-1963 Hello, we are glad to hear you enjoy Windy! Official statement for this can be always found in our Terms of Use.

To whom may it concern.
I’m Jung from S.Korea.
Currently, I work in Kakao corp and our team is interested in Windy.com map which will be used for commercial purpose on our web search service.
Kakao's search service provides the weather information(https://bit.ly/2F5feCq), and our users want to see a visual weather(air pollution) information.
So, we would like to display 'Windy air map' service in real-time on our web service using the iFrame.
Can we use for this purpose?
I look forward to your reply.

Hi,
I'm working for a company that develops a smartphone app for boat owners.
I'd love to show Windy.com's graphical weather forecast on our app, next to other nautical information we generate.
Appearance will be a view split into halves, one side has Windy forecast, and the other shows ours.I've sent your support team an email with details.
It'd be appreciated if you could take a look.Best,
Tomo -
To be clear, the app is a freemium.

@suzutomato Hello, we are already processing your email request, you will receive feedback soon.

@Korina
Thank you, Korina. :) -
Hi!
I'm making educational videos for learning how to sail and navigate. I'm planning to make some weather classes and would love to use screenshots from Windy, or perhaps even record my screen so that I can show the movement of the high and low pressure systems, while I explain how weather systems work. I'm from Sweden and the videos will be in Swedish.
I would gladly include the Windy logo, link to the webpage and recommend Windy in general.
Would it still be OK to do this?
Best regards,
Jonas

@Jonas-Bergman Hello, please take a look at your Terms of Use to see what conditions need to be followed.

Hello, my name is Scott Shellhorse and I am a video producer for a local government. We are interested or have questions about two things.
First, we are wanting to embed the map onto our website. I looked at the Terms of Service and that seems like something we should be able to do. Is there any cost involved if we do that?
The second one is a little more complicated. We also run a broadcast TV channel and are wanting to broadcast the radar through the channel. Can we do this? Would there be a cost involved? We know how we can do it on the technical side but wanted to confirm the legal aspect of doing it.
-
Hello @sshellhorse, you can use Windy this way as long as our logo is visible and the visualizations aren't modified.
-
@petra-pik Thank you. We would basically be grabbing the web browser so it would definitely have the logo.

Hi, I am rebuilding the website for a club of boat owners of a little town in Italy. I love your maps and animation and I would like to know if I can embed it in this website using https://embed.windy.com/, of course you will be cited and your logo will be visible. Thank you!
