    Explanation needed for cloud bases

      Hello,
      I'm trying to wrap my head around something :
      For the 22th, we can see a cloud base ("Base des nuages"), during the day, of 1900, 500 and 800 ft. We can see some very dark clouds displayed above, under the 3000ft grey line, so it makes sense for me.

      For the day of the 23th, the cloud base is forecast to be 100, 100 and 300 ft, but the clouds displayed just above are not as grayed AND they look like they are not as low as the ones from the day before ! Why is that ?

      I know I am missing something, but I don't know why
