New Snow Toggle doesn't work

Frequently when using the web app & mobile android app I've been unable to add the "new snow" or "snow depth" layers.

Click "more layers"
toggle "new snow"

The result is the toggle switching states, and the layers in the sidebar flash but then revert back to normal. It's like it's trying to add the layer but it fails.
