As it is already discussed, I am facing the same issue. I am not able to setup the old forecast model.

Hi, the default layer is Wind and you cannot save a layer or model. All the units that can be saved are in Settings. -

As explained, the default setting, map and model, cannot be changed and there is a reason for that : at this stage of the development of the application, giving the possibility to the user to change de default setting would lead to some technical issues and will considerably slowdown the application.
