中国及附近地区闪电实时显示 About the living lightning monitoring in China and nearby areas
-
This is a website shows real-time lightning strikes in China and nearby areas. It does the same thing as blitzortung.org
-
i dont konw if windyty can get the data
-
Afaik. usage of blitzortung.org data is not allowed for commercial apps...
-
Windy use already Blitzortung to show lightning.
What cnlightning could add? -
@idefix37
AFAIK, Blitzortung has no station in China.
Lightnings over China come from Blitzortung participating stations
from nearby countries and cities. e.g. Tokyo, Okinawa, Macao, Hong Kong etc.
@TZ
As I see in the first screenshot (www.cnlightning.cn), there are a lot of stations in China.
It is a nice idea to include those chinese lightning data in Windy (if freely available). -
... lightnings in location A
are not recorded (observed) by Blitzortung participating stations.
P.S. Windy's radar data over China
are much better than those from www.cnlightning.cn

@Gkikas-LGPZ
Thanks for this detailed explanation. -
@追捕小螳螂
Blitzortung uses these lightning detectors (hardware cost 300€)
http://en.blitzortung.org/cover_your_area.php
May we know something about those used by cnlightning ? -
@Gkikas-LGPZ Cnlightning is provided by the government. All the stations are built by the government, and cnlightning is free to the public.
if you want to know more about cnlightning, you can read the specification(http://www.cnlightning.cn/docs/UserDoc.pdf)(the language is chinese)
Just hope these data can make supplement for windyty -
@Korina Can http://www.cnlightning.cn/ be a another source for Windy if Blitzortung doesn't have coverage in China?
-
@追捕小螳螂
Thank you!
I'll try to read the lightning manual, "with a little help from ... Google!" -
@tomacat Exactly CAS is a public institution, but I'm not sure about the copyright, it should be easy to apply for a data interface. 😄
