Radar anomalies : Do you know what create this weird shapes from the radar?

@igreck31 Hi, these are probably caused by an interruption on the radar provider side.

No clouds in this area...

Hi @Caefix, looks like Mumbai radar from IMD does show reflectivity though

@Filip_K Today it looked like difficult debugging in progress. (12h...)

Here some peaks seem too high.

Hi @Caefix, you are right, this seem to be some unusual data from Danish DMI.
While the data usually looks like this
it looked like this for a while (probably lightning detection)
Data were wrongly interpreted as reflectivity with very high value which resulted in spots you noticed.
We'll try to incorporate some detection method to prevent this data from being displayed

How can radar ignore this convective system?
Btw. I can´t tell in nice words how nasty it is, that I can´t use the animation recording feature .
-
Hi @Caefix. From my understanding, presence of clouds doesn't necessarily mean precipitation. But it is difficult to cross-check because there are no weather stations available in the area.

Is there a radar that covers the area?
If "yes", the radar was functional ? (disseminates data)As I see in India Meteo. Dept. https://mausam.imd.gov.in/
radar coverage is limited.
