While watching community posts, I remarked that often users do not find by themselves the use of the UI control having a "clock" as icon (on right bottom side of the map).

That control displays useful details - or even mandatory, required by data license - about the content and the meaning of the currently selected layer. Nevertheless, users often ask the community questions about the data layer they are viewing: where comes it from, which is its reference time, validity, content, meaning, etc.

I guess the origin of the "clock" icon is just related to the validity or update frequency of the data layer, while the popup displays much more info.

I would suggest to replace the "clock" icon by a more explicit one; generally GIS UIs provide a "?" or "i" icon for "layer info" controls, which is generally easier to understand by any user profile.

      ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
