Expanding the Timeline once you close it??

Hello,

I'm sorry if this has been asked but I searched and could not find anything other than a post requesting a more clear way to expand the timeline once you have closed it. I cannot figure out any way to expand the timeline without searching for a new location. I'm sure that I am missing something simple but I cannot figure it out. Thanks for your help!
