The app has stopped working

I'm a huge fan of Windy and recently subscribed.
For quite a long time, I'd say at least 6 months, I keep getting a popup on my Android phone saying that the Windy app has stopped working. It's the same issue reported here. The popup often appears several times per hour. It's really frustrating.
My phone is a Sony Xperia X Compact, it's a reasonably high spec device, not particularly short on memory.
The only way to stop the popup appearing is to Force Stop the app, which is a pain.
I've reported via the app/android feedback a couple of times.
Is this a known issue?

Hello @paddyb I'm sorry to hear that. I can recommend to uninstall and install the application again and to clear the application cache. I guess you already are on the latest version of the app, if not, please update it.

@petra-pik I have to say I'm astonished, but a day later and I haven't seen a crash. I'm cautiously optimistic that uninstalling and reinstalling has resolved the problem. Thank you.
