Pressure map - Arome
-
It seems that the pressure map cannot be displayed with either Arome or Nems (Meteoblue). Is it correct ? I am a bit surprised because Arome data are available on sites like Meteociel so why Windy couldn't integrate those pressure data into an existing map ?
Also, if I am not mistaken, if I display the pressure lines on a map which can display data from Arome, for instance the wind map, then those pressure lines in fact don't come from Arome (although Arome is chosen as model for the wind map) but from IFS because Windy cannot get access to pressure data from Arome so by default Windy displays IFS (ECMWF) data in place of Arome. -

Windy shows AROME 2km (in fact the 1.3km version called HD elsewhere, rounded to 2km on Windy). I am not sure that this version offers the pressure parameter. There are many parameters, as the altitude parameters, which are only available with AROME 2.5 km. Reason why the isobars displayed with AROME layers on Windy are those from IFS. -

Thanks for your answer.
In fact, pressure data and many others are available with Arome 1.3km. This the one (1.3km) which is proposed on Meteociel with all those data. See the link below.http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/arome.php
This is why I was surprised not to see them available here with Windy,...?

@Yves70
Sorry, on Météociel I do not see Pressure available with AROME 1.3km. Pressure/Geop 500hPa is not shown under AROME 1.3 km Only with AROME 2.5km: -
@idefix37
You are totally right, my mistake !
Having said that, Windy should perhaps use Arome 2.5km to get access to much more parameters. Accuracy of the forecasts will be probably slightly worse (not sure about the exact difference,...) but more info will be accessible with the model. A lot of useful data are currently missing
