Cannot Login in App



  • I logged myself out from windy app accidentally, and now I am unable to log in again. The credentials are without any doubt correct, but then, upon tapping the big blue „Login“ button, nothing happens. What is going wrong here?

    Are you sure you are on the app of this forum?
    There is another app with the same name but with a blue logo.
    The app of this forum has a red logo:
    on.windy.com/AndroidApp
    on.windy.com/iOSapp



  • @idefix37 yes, absolutely. It is the red Windy (I know both apps).

    I tap the „hamburger“icon in the right side of the screen, tap „Login“ on top of the list, then I enter my credentials, and tap the blue „Login“ button. Nothing happens.

    I already restarted the iPhone, and deleted and reinstalled the Windy app. Still not able to log in. The blue button just doesn’t react.

    @icoco Hello, did you try to log in with your username instead of email address?



  • @Korina This did it! Thank you for the hint, I would never have thought of that.

    Anyway, this may be a little bug which the developers might want to fix. :)

    @icoco Hello, I just tested login with email address and everything works. Please try the login again, there should not be any issue.



  • @Korina Hi, I have exactly the same problem, correct app, correct credentials that work on the website. However, it still doesn’t work with my username or email address. Tapping the blue login button does nothing. Can you help? I’ve paid for premium but can’t access it. Thanks

    Please let me know the following so we can look into it:

    – Were you logged in when you were purchasing Windy Premium? If so, have you created an account when you were subscribing or you had it before?
    – What language you have set in Windy
    – What version of the application, operating system, and what device are you on?
    – Is there any error message?

    Meanwhile, you can also try to restart your device, uninstall and install the app again, and try to reset your password. Let me know if this lets you log in to the application.

  • @Korina Sorry for my late reply. I am still having issues. One time the login worked using my username - see above. But now I logged out again to test with my email, and I am unable to log in again, no matter if im using the username or mail address. Passwort is correct, I double-checked that.
    (Newest versions of everything. Paid user as well, btw.)

    Just an idea - it may be that I have changed my email address over time, because the old one is not in use any more. Just guessing that this might have something to do with the issue? But then, I cannot log in using the username as well.

    Hey guys, thanks for your reports. I guess you all have problem with mobile app? Desktop version should be ok. I hope we found the problem and it should be fixed in next mobile app version (client v26). Thank you for your patience and all your help.

    – Were you logged in when you were purchasing Windy Premium? If so, have you created an account when you were subscribing or you had it before?
    – What language you have set in Windy

    1. I am assuming that I have been logged in when purchasing Premium (not 100% sure however).
    2. Language = German
    3. iPhone Xs, iOS 13.6.1, Windy 25.4.6 built 2020-07-20 16:43
    4. No error message. Blue "Anmelden" button just giving a short 'flash' when tapping, nothing else happens.

    I have already restarted the phone, deleted and re-installed the app - to no avail unfortunately. Still unable to log in. Strange that I have been able to log in using my username last time, but now I cannot log in, no matter if I'm using mail or username.

    Log in on Safari is working perfectly, both using username as well as mail address. :)
