Windy.com updates ECMWF model each 6h, with 1h detailed resolution
-
While forecast model ECMWF is updated every 12 hours (twice a day), our Windy.com offers 6 hours ECMWF forecast updates (four times a day).
6h ECMWF update time technically means that scientists can feed forecast models with more recent data and produce even better forecasting results than before. Together with a 1h detailed forecast, this innovation brings you a completely new quality level.
6h ECMWF update with 1h detailed forecast is available for our Windy Premium subscribers.
If you are already a Windy Premium user (the yellow crown icon is present in your avatar), you get your 6h updates now. No further action is required.
Otherwise, you can subscribe to Windy Premium in less than 3 minutes, either from your browser at windy.com, or as an app-in purchase in our Android or iOS app by clicking on "Windy Premium."
6h ECMWF update is available for desktop and the latest versions of iOS and Android apps.
This innovation was a heavy duty achievement of all people in our Windy.com tema, mostly backend. So good job boys.
Enjoy our new functionality and stay safe!!

@ivo please, would someone help me change my setting from Centigrade to Fahrenheit?
-
@HelenWindy Hi, units such as Celsius and Fahrenheit can be changed in Menu->Settings.
-
I signed up for premium. Please remove the annoying updated message that takes up the screen
-
I have Premium and am able to get 1 hr forecasts in iOS app, but not in Safari on Mac. Clicking back and forth between 1 hr and 3 hr always results in a 3 hr display.
Anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: Deleted
-
@aerthal Hello, which message do you mean please? The only mention of update times is in the menu -> About these data and it does not appear unless you click on it.
-
@breezybutt Hello, could you please enclose a screenshot?
You can access 1hr forecast under the same login details as in the iOS app - -
@Martin-Salem Hello, what do you mean by "deleted" please?
-
-
@breezybutt Thank you for sharing screenshot. Please tell me more details about your subscription. Did you subscribe on desktop or via mobile app?
-
@Korina I don't remember, but problem was solved by logging out and then back in - so it appears all is good.
-
I still don't understand how you can provide ECMWF-updates 4 times a day while the model itself is only updated 2 times a day?
Best regards,
Jörg -
@Joerg78
The model from ECMWF is called IFS. This model has 4 run per day: 0z, 6z, 12z and 18z. So far, Windy gave us access to only 2 run, 0z and 12z (the main run). Now, the Premium users have access to the other 2 run, 6z and 18z -
@Yves70 Thanks for the clarification!
