Please add buttons or cursor to change zoom

Hi,
I'd like to zoom the map in and out without panning, so that the point in the center of the display does not move.

I know that I can pinch to change the zoom factor, or double-tap any spot to zoom in, but all those methods imply moving the map centering, and this is not so comfy when monitoring thunderstorms around my place.
