Unit of rainfall?
-
Im not sure what the unit of rainfall is.
Some forecast describes it in mm/min, some does in mm/5min, mm/10min or mm/h and not all of forecasts are in the same units.
Windy just says it in "mm" or "in".I need to know the timescale of that.
Whats the unit in Windy? Its very helpful ifyou guys can describes it.
Thanks in advance

In the meteogram, this is also mm/3h, unless you are a Premium user and you activate the 1h forecast, in that case it will be mm/h
Remember also that 1mm of rain is equivalent to 1l/m2 -
Thanks both of you!
Yes I am a premium user and looking at 1hr forecast so I wanted to know the unit of value in meteogram in 1hr mode. -
One more question, the rainfall amount is accumlated amount in reference time (accumrated amount in 1hr when using 1hr forecast), not the maximum instant rainfall right?
So the value could be much lower when short/ heavy rain happens like sqall?

If the model forecasts for instance 5mm of rain in 1h, this is the total accumulated during this period. You could get 4mm during the first 15 minutes and 1mm during the remaining 45 minutes.
Do not forget that it is a FORECAST. If you really want to follow in real time what it happens, you need to use the rain radar -
I see, getting clear. Thanks so much
