Widget location bug

Widget. Location issue.
To correct it, must open the app or settings.
But then the widget will indicate wrong location again after a while. Looks like it moves to IP location instead of GPS.

This also happens on a Pixel 3 XL running Android 11. I've cleared the cache on data and uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, to no avail. I'm running project Fi, which routes all my traffic through a VPN. My guess is that while the app itself is set to get my position through GPS, the widget keeps reverting to the IP address of the proxy server.
