Windy.com brings high visibility satellite layer

How to make good even better? Make it more visible to human eyes.
Our original satellite layer offered (as a default) images from the visible spectrum, which means we presented the data "as is" straight from the satellite camera. This gave us the full detail. But for most of us, it was hard to distinguish countries, seas, oceans, and lakes. We have left "Visibility" as an option, but we have added the "Blue" spectrum that uses a false-color range as a default.
From our point of view, the changes are magnificent. It enables us to understand weather patterns to an even broader audience.
This feature was brought to you by our whole Windy team. But being honest, most of the work was done by Milan, our WebGL guy. So kudos to him.

Hi @metacrea, you are still able to see the original satellite view.
-
When the change is available in the application. ?
-
@przemo1986 Hello, we plan to release a new update in a couple of weeks.
-
@ivo
You confirm it is a visible satellite view but color enhanced, correct ?
I was a bit confused because the difference between day and night map is not that much so initially I though it was INFRA with a color treatment
This is key to know because visible images, color enhanced or not, gives info about the thickness of the clouds while INFRA gives us info about the height of the clouds -
Nice enhancement! It looks like a smart combination of Infra and Visible. This is like the 'classical view' some other websites offer, but much much better! Using the smooth animation it's even more impressive.

Thank you for your hard and innovative work! ... greetings from Hamburg/Germany, Dietmar, DL4HAO

Všimnul jsem si toho před pár dny, a je to paráda, hlavně jak to krásně odděluje pevninu. Ještě by se mi líbil nějaký hybrid s IR ;-)
Congrats!

THANKS to all of the Windy Team, and an extra special thanks to Milan!

Nice work. Good clean clarity. I like it. Thank you.

Love the new 'Blue" satellite layer Windy team, it does help the eyes!
Would it be possible in the future to add another layer called "True" colour (if licensing allow this).
The himawari 8 satellite has a great True Colour view that is beautiful.

Thank you, @anthony10, for your feedback and suggestion.
We are going to implement the 3D feature but right now we can't promise all layers, including satellite, will be included.

Very beautiful and useful sattellite imagery.
Thank you Milan ! -
Very good.

I like the new details of how the cloud cover is presented. It seems that the nighttime side is brighter, too, than the older visible nighttime side.

Thank you so much again for all the ideas to improve what we see in the browser and in the app, for us as (daily) user. I am happy as paying member I can indirectly contribute to this.
