Satellite Images Replacement
-
Hello Windy,
Thanks for producing such a detailed and useful graphic weather website. I live and work outdoors in the West of Ireland and find your website most informative and useful. I don't often share links but have broken this habit with windy.com. Every time I do this I get positive feedback.
Also, I have family and friends all over the world and take great pleasure in keeping in touch with the charts and webcam images of all these far away but significant locations.
There are only two changes that I think would make it perfect (for me!) and I ask you to consider them.
Firstly, an orthographic projection would make the perception of weather patterns around the poles possible. (Example https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=temp/orthographic=-358.78,89.58,348 )
Secondly, Please consider a return to the previous Satellites Images format. I say this because the CGI satellite window no longer allows us to see day and night moving across our planet, shadows cast by tall clouds, dawn and dusk lighting up the high cloud banks, land-forms and the myriad complex patterning of sunlight on clouds. I really miss all these!
I wish you every success as you continue to evolve the website.
Best Wishes, Dominic Waldron
