      SO2 level chronically showing massively elevated levels over Hawai’i Island (Big Island), Hawai’i, USA, when in fact Hawaii volcano observatory reports almost Zero sulfur dioxide in atmosphere.

        @truck Hello, our SO2 layer shows forecast values, not real-time measurements, so there can be a difference.

          In addition it must be underlined that the SO2 layer here is based on satellite measurements and represents the SO2 mass in a column of one sq. meter section from surface up to the top of atmosphere. While measurements from the volcano observatory are taken near the surface.
