I was checking predicted wind speeds for CYTZ for this weekend, which are abnormally high (30 kt G45 from 350). We have strong winds like this from time to time from west but not from north so it caught my attention. The area model predicts much smaller values which makes me wonder if the point extract from the main model is made in a different place such as west of Vancouver which is thousands of miles to the west but has the same latitude (only the longitude is different). On the photo I have shown where the extract should be vs where it seems to be.

Popup wind strength (11kt) seems correct, Meteogram/Forecast is way off 50kt!!

I was about to cancel my weekend activities because it looked like a hurricane!! Then I was like, wait a minute!
