Wrong wind direction - Distance and Planning

I seem to be getting the wrong wind directions for boat distance and planning routes. The wind direction on the bar across the bottom of the map seems to be completely different to the wind direction shown on the map... "or is it apparent wind direction"???

First check in More options ... that the wind direction reference is set to North up.
