Did something change with the Observation vs Forecast feature?
-
Hi there
IIRC, it was possible to compare models against an station observed weather at any point in time available in the timeline. Now, i can only see the station report and model data doesn't show. Am i missing something?
-
Yes we had technical issues to keep archive, and seemed that nobody (except of me) used it.
Evidentlly you have used it.
-
Hello !
I also use it, this function is very useful to find the best model for our location.
-
I ask @tz about the status
-
@ivo
I use it regularly too.
In addition, now the Observation vs forecast feature shows just few hours of past forecast. When previously, the past forecast was shown over 2 or 3 days. Frankly 2 or 3 hours are not enough to choose the best model for a location. -
It will be back

How To Use The "Observation vs Forecast" Feature:

Discussion is not exactly on the compare tool that you described in details in your past post but the comparison between observations given by weather stations close to a specific location and what the different models gave as forecast for this location. By using this tool, you can indeed select the best model for this specific location. This is a tool which use past and current data, observations, compared to past and current data from the models -
You are right. I have edited my post. In fact we are talking about the "How To Use The "Observation vs Forecast" Feature" (which I also wrote about in the FAQ, hence my mistake).
Thanks for picking up my error :)

Hi, you have just been mistaken by the title of the topic with is not clear :) -
@idefix37 I didn't know of other types of "compare" features that's why i wasn't more specific. Anyway, if possible, change the topic's title to something less misleading. I can't do that anymore. Thx.

@fviero
What you show in your first post is often called Observation vs forecast and allow to compare reported wind or temperature with the same parameters forecast by models.
The other Compare feature allow to compare predictions by all models. You find it in last line of Meteogram. -
Oh! Sure! Yeah...sorry...i know about that "compare" option there below. Sorry for overlooking that. Anyway, i think most people got what the problem is by relating my description with the screenshot i sent along.
Thanks for the clarification! :)
