I am trying to make some rutes just to learn how to use this feature. However I am noticing that the wind direction on the map is not lined up with the weather forecast. Wind direction on map is from East, but weather forecast claims wind from South???(ref waypoint Monday 4th@15.00Image.jpg

Have you checked the wind direction reference?
See More options... and set Wind barbs to North up
In this example you see that wind direction in the map and in the log panel match perfectly.
