GFS and NAM not updating
-
There seems to be a delay in updating the GFS and NAM. Last update for GFS was 9 hours ago (ref 12Z), and for the NAM it was 10 hours ago (ref 12Z).
-
Still not updating. GFS up to 16 hours since the last update; NAM at 17 hours. What gives?
-
@mgfrye
Probably due to outage from NCEP -
@idefix37 - Thanks for the clarification.

i am not sure, 100% but GFS in showing to working(?) in Wetterzentrale for Italy and south Europe, if you need GFS at the moment until Windy or other sites update.... sorry for my bad english...

Thank you...
but i am not sure if understand what you meaning (I do not know English very well), because some sites like wetterzentrale, windguru, meteologix (except Windy and Ventusky with no updates) and with grib files i still continue to receive uninterrupted (i think meteologix had some blank hours without update yesterday) all the new update times and data until now from GFS, with the new data is very near with new weather real life data in southern Europe regnion, this updates is not correct? -
@panosrunner I believe the updates indicate the main source for these data feeds is unavailable right now, but there are other ways of accessing the data. Windy may be using the method that is unavailable and are just waiting for it to become available again instead of changing their data source. Other sites may be pulling in the same data from a method that remains available, such as ftp.

Ok, i think now better understand what happen.... thanks :-)

NOMADS users, We have restored enough of the data center to bring the NOMADS website back up. We are now populating data in real time. However, all of the features of NOMADS are not fully healthy yet. We are still actively restoring the site to full and will send an all clear once that is complete. Due to the extensive outage we will be unable to backfill any of the data gaps. Thank you for your patience. Carissa Klemmer NCEP Central Operations IDSB Branch Chief 301-683-3835

Users, We continue to work to resolve these issues as quickly as we can. We will stop sending updates until we have a better estimate for restoration. Please remember that we offer all our nomads data through our FTPPRD web site as well. Thanks for your patience. Anne Myckow

Hello users, We had teams working through the night and they have been unable to overcome all of the remaining issues within the data center. At this time NOMADS is up and serving data, but users will experience frequent errors. A retry should result in a successful download. We continue to work to restore the site and will notify when all is clear.

The most accurate updates with less errors at the moment for Southeast Europe if some one need the GFS via websites until the problem is over, come from meteociel.fr for 3h forecast, personally i use the Windy most, but if problem come, i use also other sites and GRΙΒ files via XyGrib, i say that for help some people who need GFS model anyway (like me).... i hope the problem to finish soon and will see the GFS in favourite Windy also.... have fun and stay safe. :-)

Please include the following information if you can: your system IP, the service you are trying to use, the URL or command that is causing your issues and the error that you receive.
