State borders
-
HI!
I have been using your weather app for a few years and it is superb to play with and also get tons of useful info.
I observe that some state borders are missing or not correct, in the former Soviet republics. for instance, the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan is missing for a large part. I also observe that there is a borderline of Karabakh in Windy maps, which is not a separate entity, but part of Azerbaijan. In the maps, some of these self-proclaimed areas are reflected (for instance, in Georgia), but others are not reflected (for instance, in Ukraine and Moldova). So, what is your policy? can you please be consistent? either show these separatists areas in all countries or don't at all. Perhaps you need to stick to Google and Apple map policies and show only internationally recognized borders of countries. These separatists areas are not recognized by any other state. in fact, some of these countries actually do take legal action against companies that distort their internationally recognized borders.finally, your map needs a proper update after Azerbaijan has won the recent war with Armenia and liberated its lands from 30 years of occupation. So, it will be nice if you change back the names of towns and villages that were under occupation. e.g. There is no city Berdzor. It is called Lachin. Armenia changed the name of this city in 1999 after occupation.
many thanks! -
Hello @7791br, we are aware of these locations around the world. However, this problem should be addressed to Open Street Map, since we use their maps and have no control over them.
Once the map is corrected on OSM, it takes some time for the changes to be reflected in the application as well.
You can read more on how to correct the map here:

Hello Petra. @petra-pik
Actually, on OSM all those issues sorted out. the state border between AZE and ARM is in place, i just checked. and also the names of the towns and villages also largely reset to original names. I look forward to those changes in the Windy as well! thank you.
