Data from scandinavian MetCoOp Ensemble Prediction System and Arome Arctic

Hi. We currently discovered windy for our avalanche forecasting activities in Norway. A very versatile, fast and easy to use tool. And you have a base map that actually shows the location of cities at different scales. There are many features of your solution that are highly appreciated.
We have observed that you take inn data from global as well as regional weather models, depending where one zoomes in on the globe. Is there any chance that you take inn AROME nordic into your solution. The data should be openly available from SMHI in Sweden and met.no here in Norway. The model runs on a 2.5 km grid and reproduces the mountains and fjords much better than ECMWF.

The model name is MetCoOp Ensemble Prediction System. I did not find an api for this, but there should be open access. Ask SMHI or met.no.And for the arctic arome:

I made an inquiry with my friends at met.no and they sent me the following link to the model data. These are netcdf files. Should be easy for you to implement data from here.

@dr-snow Are you sure about Arome in Scandinavia? We display Arome in France and we are not sure if the model shows good predictions.

@ivo, the Scandic national weather services use the model operationally. So, the model is fully comparable to the other available on Windy.
I, would say go on implementing SMHi/met.no Arome in Windy. 😃/Andreas
