If you read the posts above, it has been clearly stated several times that it is not possible to remove the items shown in the screenshot above.

There is no way to turn off the items shown in the screenshot above as already explained. So there is no reason to go back on that.

Also turning off expert mode causes the layer selection widget to fold, making it smaller. I will make a suggestion to optionally hide all widgets by toggling a switch in the menu.

If you want to turn deselect items in the bottom right corner, just select Empty map.
