Adding Environment Canada Models
-
People leaving in Canada have to rely on either European or US global models on Windy. Environment Canada provides their own forecasts and it would make sense to add them to the available list for Canada. These forecasts are free I understand. spotwx.com uses them as inputs so it should be possible for Windy as well I hope.
I believe you can find them here : https://weather.gc.ca/mainmenu/modelling_menu_e.html
Thanks a lot -
@pavbin Hello, we do plan to add more models into our platform if they provide reliable data. Thank you for suggestion.

@korina
Thanks Korina for your reply. I would expect they do provide reliable data, this is the Canadian governmental weather agency! :)
Thanks for developing Windy, it is a great tool!

I'll only say that the main reason I first found then used and subscribed to Windy was the almost completely unreliable weather forecasting allegedly performed by environmentalcase Canada. I found tossing a coin or scattering sticks and bones in the dirt to be vastly more competent ways of predicting weather, in an apples to apples comparison.
Windy set me free from increasingly ideologically driven weather forecasts. I feel great pity for those who are forced by law to rely on a service that has difficulty hindcasting weather accurately. Nav Canada comes to mind but I try not to think about that too much...
edit: I should also say that including the most skilful Canadian model would indeed make a good addition to Windy — for various reasons.
