Radar imagery problem

I've searched for this particular issue in other posts but can't find quite the same thing. On the last frame of the radar loop there is often a large section of precipitation that disappears.

Why does it do this? The precip is still there, and only some portions of it disappear in the last frame. When it updates and the last frame becomes the second to last, all of the precip is shown in the now second to last but not in the new last frame.

This doesn't happen all the time, but fairly often. I have screen shots of it but don't know how to add them to this.
