trying to understand how API works

Hello,
as per the doc, I just went to get an API key. I got one returned to me.
Now when I try to follow the document example and type this command at my command line:

curl https://api.windy.com/api/webcams/v2/?key=---------------------------------------/api/webcams/v2/list/country=IT

where ------------------- is my API key.

I get a "Forbidden" error returned.
what am I missing?
