Windy 3D mode is back!
-
@korina
I have only a problem with Clouds layer.
All the other layers are OK (High clouds, Medium clouds, Low clouds, Thermals...).
With Chrome on iMac. -
@idefix37 Hi, try to clear your browser cache. I cannot replicate this.
-
@korina
I've cleared my browser cache. But still have the same issue with Clouds. -
@idefix37
Great indeed !!! Is it only available with the desktop version ? -
@yves70 Hello, for now yes.
-
@idefix37 Does it happen on other browsers too?
-
@korina
Yes a similar picture with Safari
Use Mac OS Big Sur -
Great!! We can analyze polar jet accurately.
I can see properly with Firefox V88.0.1, win10. -
Looks very informative and useful. First time I've viewed this option as I am a new Premium subscriber. KUDOS. Also, added the link to the Weather Watchers group on GAB -> https://gab.com/groups/431

@idefix37 Arctic forecast is technically quite difficult to realize.
So for now, we have launched it w/o it, and we will see later.
-
@ivo
Yes I saw that beyond 85°N the rendering was not really good, but this is not a problem. It's more important to have a realistic view from 60°N up to 80°N, what 3D allows -
Outstanding.....Thanks
-
Everything there is looking great, all moving in the right direction.
-
I am very happy that the 3D mode is online again.
-
This certainly helps me to visualize our fluid atmosphere and i hope someday to see Radar and Satellite adapted to it.
-
@idefix37 This is how i see clouds
-
Thank you very much for bringing back 3D mode. This is super handy! In particular it is the best source I have found for the Arctic and Antarctica regions of Earth. Keep up the excellent work Windy!
-
@korina
I can imagine it. But I've still the same issue I shown.
Is your screenshot from PC or from Mac?
The issue is probably due to the small dots which show the rain in Clouds layer, because I have no problem with Low clouds, Medium clouds or High clouds. -
I love the 3D version! I've been thinking that Windy needs one and surprise, surprise, here it is! :D
3D works great, very smooth on Firefox, even better than 2D (where the browser feels like struggling with rendering the map).
The only con of 3D on shows country names, which is nice but is distracting and makes it harder to analyze the data beneath. I wish I could turn off/on those names. -
Great to see. So much more help with the detailed 3D.
