@vicb Hi, that is strange, my Mac is around 5 years old and particles work fine, not glitchy and fairly smooth. Did you try with other browsers too?

@korina you are absolutely right - it works much better in Safari 14.1.1. It must be a problem with my version of Chrome. Sorry that I didn't test earlier.

@korina It doesn't for me ☺I just tried again, and the layer is not updating as the time slider progresses.
I presume the issue is because I'm using "Ungoogled-chromium", and WebGL in-particular seems to (intentionally) not work, so I think maybe Windy is falling back to some other rendering method which is unsupported/untested by the team. It's not a big deal to me anyway.

Really enjoy the 3d view, great idea and execution. Noted that the south pole didn't have any ISO bars on wind animation.

You SHOULD NOT be forcing users to become premium members in order to use the 3D capability...PERIOD!

I'm new at the Windy, but I'm so excited! Very good (in my opinion best) weather data visualisation website I evere seen. I really the custom color scales and 3D globe is just perfect. I also really like the smooth animations and that is very important for me. In next days I will buy the premium subscribtion! Best wishes!

As for charging for it - I think you guys absolutely deserve to get paid. There's no forcing in providing a good quality service with awesome features and qualities such as smoothness and relative simplicity, listening to the folks who use your stuff, and doing it all sustainably w/o going out of business. Keep at it!

It is a pity, there is no good conditions for do this even for Satelit and meteoradar :( ... Or you are working even on those variants?

Remark about max zoom in 3D mode:
- one cannot get bigger map scale than zoom 6 (screenshot), which is not enough; user has to enable 2D to zoom more, then again 3D to zoom less... which is boring
- if Windy 3D technology would allow it (and I think it does), big map scales should not be limited by 3D
- other 3D web maps don't have such a limit (e.g. GogolMaps), or well allow zooming to much bigger map scales (e.g. MeteoEarth, NullSchool, DarkSky)
